What To Wear To A Wedding

Receiving a wedding invitation is always exciting; it's a time for celebration and for joining friends or relatives in a very important moment of their lives. However, it is also a stressful moment where we start wondering what to wear in order to look elegant, sexy, and sophisticated at the same time.

Of course, men never have this dilemma, they just follow the dress code and that's it! If it is a formal wedding, they just buy (or even rent) a tuxedo; if the wedding is more casual, they just put on a nice suit and the rest is history.

Women, on the other hand, have several things to consider when choosing the right look for a wedding. The first thing you need to know is to NEVER, ever wear white. That color is reserved for the bride, and you don't want to be the one to overshadow the main protagonist of the day! You should also consider that black, even though it's a classic, it is probably a color that you may want to skip when choosing your look for that special day. Pastels are always a great option since they are nice, sophisticated, and neutral (it's difficult to make a fool of yourself if you choose one of these colors). If you are a more daring person and believe pastels are not the best fit for you, you can always cause a big impact by wearing something red or emerald green. If you are close to the bride, you can try to find out the colors she has chosen for her bridesmaids; that way you can avoid choosing it and looking like you are one of them!

Another important thing you should pay attention to is the dress code; make sure you dress accordingly. You don't want to be the one in a long night dress when the bride and groom are wearing plain white t-shirts and washed out jeans!

DAY OR NIGHT?

When choosing what to wear for a wedding, you should also consider whether it will take place during the day or night. If the celebration will take place during the day, the best option would be to choose a short dress, up to the knee. Additionally, you can add a nice hat (not too ornated) and gloves as good accessories. Gloves will bring a refined feel to your whole look.

If the party will take place at night, discard the hat and go with a long dress. High heels are a must (unless you are over 80 or 8 months pregnant!) and never forget to add some nice jewelry for that special final touch.

Make-up is also very important. For the day, choose a light foundation, some shimmering blusher and some juicy lip gloss. For the night, you can highlight your eyes with an eye-shadow and wear some stunning red for your lips. Mascara is a must, no matter if we are talking of a day or night celebration.

But most important of all, try choosing something that you feel comfortable with, something that represents your own personal look and personality. That way, you can guarantee you'll catch everyone's attention!
